Doggin' ' Dallas: where you hiking with your dog in big D

Is located about five miles northeast of downtown, the building of White Rock Lake
began water to a Dallas in 1910, thirsty. White Rock Lake Park, the
City Park, the Lake on Garland Road (route 78) is above all the work
the civilian Conservation Corps during the great depression.

A complete journey to White Rock Lake to the city track covers about 10
Miles, but dog owners on a time budget want to the dog park at the head
Mockingbird point. There are two fenced playgrounds for large and small dogs and
many trees, open space and a two tier water fountain. Baseball pitching
Legend Nolan Ryan threw the first dog toys, when the park opened.

Nearby is a recovery with your dog to hiking Fort Richardson State historical
Park. Fort Richardson, memory of General Israel B. Richardson died
Antietam during the civil war was in 1867 to protect the settlers on the
Texas area. During the Indian wars from 1870-1874 he was the strongest
manned garrison in the United States but had gone from 1878. The State bought the
Properties in 1968 and has seven original border Fort Richardson building.

The Fort was on spring fed lost Creek and also the sights wind built way.
by peaceful Prairie is the Pecan and oak. The dog-friendly prickly pear trail
examines the open plains for km, where is a deer, Armadillo, or Roadrunner
discovered.

Dogs swimming can use quarry Creek Lake and lost if flows.
A nature trail follows lost Creek, for a short walk from half mile; Trundle spring
Path follows the stream on the opposite bank.

A starting point for the 10-miles lost Creek reservoir State trailway is located in the Fort
Richardson State Park Campground, where dogs are allowed. This hike-bike-
Horse riding path travels to Lake Jacksboro and lost Creek reservoir.

The Park is 1/2 mile south of Jacksboro by US Highway 281.
