Doggin' ' Chesapeake Bay: the 10 best beaches, take your dog

The Chesapeake Bay is one of our great recreation destination. More than 1 in every 15 American live only a short drive from the nation largest estuary and millions per year for sailing, lighthouses, the Atlantic blue crabs come... What is your dog? Some of the best of Maryland State Parks on the Bay not allow that dogs (Calvert cliffs, Sandy point), but there are some beautiful beaches, take your dog, however. Here are ten besten-

1. KIPTOPEKE STATE PARK (Virginia, East Coast).
Features backed up more than half a mile broad sandy beaches, sand dunes. Offshore nine concrete world war as a breakwater, excess ships sunk were leave to play gentle waves for your dog. 2. First landing STATE PARK (Virginia, southern mouth of the Bay).

The best of all is Dog Beach, a scruffy 40-metres of sand isolated, where you let the dog way leash for dogs water sports in the Chesapeake Bay. The wave action is the right choice for dogs, and there is enough sand for digging. Need we say more?

4. TERRAPIN PARK (East coast at the Bay Bridge Maryland).

Terrapin Park has more than 4,000 meters from beach front at the top of the Kent Iceland. Playful waves and shadow of the Bay Bridge dog swim in the North. The way to the beach is about Oyster chaff.

5. FLAG ponds NATURPARK. (Maryland, West side - Lusby).

6. MATAPEAKE PARK (Maryland, East Coast, South of the Bay Bridge).

The beach is a little too industrial for sun worshippers, making it ideal for dogs to go wild. Matapeake Park is located south of the Bay Bridge with views over the Bay and the bridge.

7. WYE Island natural resources MANAGEMENT AREA (Maryland, East Coast).

The Ferry landing trail was once the only road access to the island, lined with Osage orange trees imported, to serve as a natural fence. Osage orange trees comes in a small region of Texas and Oklahoma, Arkansas, the home of the Osage Indians, who used the wood for bows. Long path ends with a small sandy beach away.

8. POINT LOOKOUT STATE PARK. (Maryland, southern tip of the West Bank).

A civil war prison Confederate soldiers keep was built here, at the mouth of the Potomac River and is the main attraction of the park but dogs are not permitted here. Before crossing the bridge to the island, but is a small, sandy beach of dog with excellent wave action.

9. Eastern neck NATIONAL WILDLIFE refuge (Maryland, East Coast, South of Rock Hall).

The secluded beach at the end of the boxes point trail on the River is not technically Chester but you checked this quibble is not fun waves.

10. NORTH POINT STATE PARK (West Bank, East of Baltimore, Maryland).

Although only 20 hectares, of Bay Shore Park was considered one of the best amusement parks, which ever built along the Chesapeake Bay. In 1906 opened Park featured a Edwardian-style dance hall, bowling alley and restaurant surrounded by gardens and sweeping way. There was to swing rides such as a water-toboggan and sea. Visitors would bus trips to the Bank of Baltimore on a trolley line. Your dog can explore the remains and diving in the Chesapeake on a small children's pool beach at the visitor center.
