Doggin' ' San Diego; Where to hike with your dog in the place where California began

In 1868, the land for this world-renowned Balboa Park has been reserved. 1910 Called a competition of the development Park in honour of Vasco Núñez de Balboa, the first European to the Pacific Ocean to see. Dogs are allowed on trails in the 1400-acre park and there are also a few 24-hour dog parks: a large Lawn area on Balboa drive El Prado, on the South side of the Cabrillo bridge and Morley field on the East side of the Park Northwest of the tennis courts. Grape Street Park serves as a leash area during the following hours: Mo-FR, 07: 30-10: 00 and 04: 00-21: 00; Saturday, Sunday and holidays 09: 00-11: 00 and 04: 00-21: 00

Just northeast of San Diego, you can walk with your dog on the trail of the mission
Trails regional park. As far as 8,000 BC, dating back, this was the country the the
powerful Kumeyaay Nation with 18 communities of California and Mexico, 12
in San Diego County alone. Only 1974 founded on the site of the old mission dam,
the Park almost 6,000 natural morning reminded the country at the time of the first Spanish
Settlement in San Diego Bay in 1542.

Dogs are welcome, hard packed the more than 40 km of hiking trails over here
Open Chaparral and Sage Scrub. Consider for short opener at Mission trails
Oak Grove loop and visitor center loop to the visitor and interpretive center. Others
easy canine walks include the grassland loop to the East of Fortuna and father
Junipero Serra trail, visiting all habitats including wetlands, feeding Park
Mission Canyon and oak forests.

The star canine walk at Mission trails is Cowles mountain, where several trails to lead
the highest point in San Diego - 1.591 feet. With the 360-degree views had
Round trips between three and five miles on the track. A short detour to the
Northwest leads to 1379-foot Pyle's peak.

Mission trails regional park has mission Gorge road at the corners of the
Father Junipero Serra trail and echo Dell road.
